MEET OUR TEAM
JOANNA SCHULLER is our Director at
CrossRoads and is thrilled to be part of
our growing community. She was a
preschool teacher for over 7 years and
also taught for Anne Arundel County
Public Schools. She has also been a
Director and Educational Director in the
past and developed an innovative
curriculum for our school based on her
experience teaching Pre-K and
Kindergarten in the public school
system. Joanna was awarded the Maryland
Distinguished Scholar award for Voice.
She loves to sing and play the piano.
Joanna teaches a music class here at
CrossRoads too! In her spare time,
Joanna reads about health/fitness and
runs after work each day. Joanna lives
downtown Annapolis with her miniature
dachshund named, Lomax. Joanna is
looking forward to having her own
children here at CrossRoads Child
Development Center one day!
KELLY
BAKER, is our Assistant Director and
teaches our Pre Kindergarten class with
Ms. Stacy. Kelly resides in
Millersville, MD and is a graduate of
Anne Arundel Community College. She was
a distinguished member of the Phi Theta
Kappa Honor Society and has earned two
degrees in General Studies and Early
Childhood Education. She has been a
faithful team member and functioned in
many capacities in our Center. Her
experience comes from being both an
exemplary teacher and mother. Her
favorite color is pink.
STACY
WEBB teaches our Pre Kindergarten class.
Stacy lived in Dallas, Texas for 6 six
years and since then has resided in
Maryland. Stacy loves her Dallas
Cowboys! She is a graduate of Arundel
High School, and holds a Senior
Cosmetologist License and has trained as
a dental assistant. With two teenage
daughters of her own, Stacy loves to
share in the growth and development of
youngsters. She is pleased to watch
them become able to do, independently,
the things she teaches them, and finds a
child’s view of our world endlessly
interesting. Stacy has gained a great
amount of experience working in her
mother’s licensed home day care and has
her 90 hour certificate in Early
Childhood Education. Her hobbies
include surf and bass fishing,
competitive roller skating, and
archery. She is also a member of
Pogo.com and of a bowling league.
DENISE HICKS is our Preschool/3’s
teacher. Denise began working in
childcare in 1993 while attending
college. Denise graduated in 2003 from
Johns Hopkins University with a BS in
Interdisciplinary Studies degree in the
field of Psychology. Denise recently
attained her 90 hr teacher certification
in Early Childhood Education. Denise is
a native of Annapolis, Maryland where
she currently resides with her daughter
who will be attending CrossRoads in the
fall. Denise has lived in San Francisco
and Los Angeles, CA. She enjoys
spending time with her family, listening
to classical music, reading philosophy,
art and teaching.
NICOLE
GREENFIELD is our Preschool/3’s teacher
and also teaches our School-Age program
in the afternoons with Ms. Barbara.
Nicole is a recent graduate from
University of Maryland- College Park.
Nicole earned her Bachelor’s degree in
Elementary Education. She has a great
deal of experience working with
children. She teaches Sunday school at
Holy Family Catholic Church every
Sunday, worked in several elementary
schools, and interned at a children’s
youth center too.
A. JEANNIE
BAUMANN teaches our Preschool Prep/2’s
class. Jeannie loves little children and
has worked in the field for over 10
years. She received her 90-hour child
care certificate while attending Severna
Park Senior High School and continues to
take courses at Anne Arundel Community
College. She was born in Indiana but
moved to Maryland when she was 3 years
old. Her hobbies include bowling and
making necklaces which is probably why
she is so creative with children's
crafts. Jeannie recently gave birth to
her first child, Hunter!
BRITTANY WALKER is teaches our Preschool
Prep/2’s class. Brittany also teaches
an American Sign Language class weekly
at CrossRoads. Brittany is a graduate
from Towson University and has a degree
in Deaf Studies (Sign Language). She
lived in Baltimore for 5 years and
recently moved back Calvert County. She
is working on attaining a Master’s
degree in Early Childhood Education.
Brittany is excited to be at CrossRoads!
BARBARA STECHER teaches our
School-Age program in the afternoons at
CrossRoads. Barbara was one of the
first teachers who started our Center.
She is a retired elementary school
teacher. Barbara earned her B.S. degree
from Wisconsin State University. She has
taught in Wisconsin, Japan and Maryland.
Barbara enjoys seeing all the children
in the afternoons here at CrossRoads
each day!
ASHLY HABERER assists
our Pre Kindergarten program in the
afternoons at CrossRoads. Ashly is a
senior at Southern High School. She
will earn her Early Childhood
Certification this year and is looking
forward to becoming a preschool
teacher. Ashly is involved with her
Church and also wants to teach Sunday
School. She plans on attending college
next Fall to continue her coursework and
studies in Early Childhood Education.
Ashly’s hobbies include cheerleading and
poetry.
ANDREW HORGAN is the
Assistant Group Leader for our
School-Age class in the summer and on
school breaks. Mr. Andrew is a graduate
from Severn School and currently attends
Clemson University and belongs to the
Honors College. He is majoring in
Finance with a minor in Athletic
Leadership. Mr. Andrew enjoys playing
golf and plays club football at Clemson.
Mr. Andrew was voted President of the
Clemson Club Football Association! Mr.
Andrew is Mrs. Schuller’s, little
brother too!
ELAINE MONAHAN is
our substitute teacher here at
CrossRoads. Mrs. Monahan is a
grandmother who loves children. She has
been dedicated to early childhood
education for many years. After
receiving her B.A. in education, she
completed her M.A. at Seton Hall
University in 1970 and began working
with children with special needs. Mrs.
Monahan has managerial experience in the
education field and is excited about
returning to the classroom.
KYLE
DURBIN teaches our weekly Christian
music class and Chapel program here at
CrossRoads. Kyle is a graduate student
at Wesley Theological Seminary. He is
an active member of Davidsonville United
Methodist Church and is DUMC’s seminary
intern.
